ABOUT RAVINE FIELD

Ravine Field is a literary non-profit organization based in Topanga Canyon, California.

We support writers, artists, and thinkers through residencies, conversations, publications, and gatherings devoted to the life of the mind.

Our work begins from a simple belief: attention is one of the rarest and most valuable resources of our time.

In an age shaped by acceleration, distraction, and endless commentary, literature offers a different possibility. It asks us to slow down. To observe carefully. To remain with complexity. To encounter lives, ideas, and experiences beyond our own.

Ravine Field exists to create conditions for that encounter.

We are interested in work that is intellectually rigorous, emotionally alive, aesthetically ambitious, and deeply attentive to the world. We are drawn to writing that crosses boundaries between disciplines and traditions; that can hold the ecological and the personal, the political and the spiritual, the erotic and the philosophical, the ancient and the emerging.

Through our programs, we seek to support both established and emerging voices while fostering meaningful exchange across generations, backgrounds, and fields of inquiry.

The name Ravine Field reflects the terrain we hope to cultivate: a place where depth and openness coexist, where ideas can travel between seemingly distant landscapes, and where new ways of seeing might take root.
